RAW SILK PRINTS

Introducing
Raw Silk Prints! After much experimenting Faery Medicine has
achieved success in the process of printing on raw silk. The
effect is rich lasting color and a depth that is truly magical.
No paper print has ever come this close to the qualities of
the Faery Medicine originals. Every print is slightly different
and a work of art in itself because of the varying textures
and lack of total control over the silk. The characteristics
of the fabric next to the detail of the illustrations are breathtaking
and totally unique.
The
8x10 Raw Silk Prints are part of a limited
edition of 300 for each image. The image area for the 8x10 prints
is approximately 3.75"x5" depending on the dimensions
of the original illustration. 8x10 silk prints are $100 each.
Hand-embellished prints are available by request for $125. Contact

The
11x14 Raw Silk Prints are part of a limited
edition of 200 for each image. The image area for the 11x14
prints is approximately 7"x9" depending on the dimensions
of the original illustration. 11x14 silk prints are $200 each.
Hand-embellished prints are available by request for $250. Contact

Each
print is checked for quality, signed and numbered by Kristen
and comes with a certificate of authentication. All are mounted
on black silk velvet boards and ready for framing.
Because monitors vary, prints may differ slightly from colors
seen on the computer screen. Not all images in the Faery Medicine
Boutique have Raw Silk Prints.
THE
PROCESS - After fringing, taping the edges, and applying
a paper backing to the silk, each piece of fabric is hand-painted
with two coats of a special primer that accepts ink. Prints
are individually printed and checked for color quality and accuracy.
When approved, the protective taping and paper backing is removed.
The prints are raw and slightly irregular in shape and texture
- a nice contrast next to the details of the illustrations.

FRAMING
- These silk prints are unframed. To maintain the quality
and longevity it is recommended that they be framed with spacers
so that they do not touch the glass. Back
